Community Health Centers – Providers, Employers, and Partners of Choice

Over 100 million Americans face barriers to accessing primary care and the estimated number of Americans who are medically disenfranchised—at risk of lacking access to primary care due to an inadequate supply in their local community—has nearly doubled since 2014. The insufficient number of primary care providers in the US poses a serious public health threat, leaving nearly one-third of the population vulnerable. The nation’s Community Health Centers are positioned to be the Providers, Employers, and Partners of Choice for those seeking primary and preventive health care. To reach this vision, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is working with health centers and partners nationwide to increase value-based care models, drive Techquity by deploying new technologies in the delivery of care, recruiting and retaining a mission-driven, representative workforce, and building partnerships with payers, providers, pioneers, and others. This session will explore these concepts and models and is designed to provide attendees a robust understanding of the impact of health centers on the nation’s health care system and vision for a future of where health equity is at the forefront of an improved system for the years to come.
