As we witness the rapid evolution of technology and medical practices, the need to maintain patient privacy and adhere to the robust standards of HIPAA becomes paramount. At the same time, ensuring there are CPT codes for new ways of performing care that do not fit the traditional mold of billing codes remains an area that needs discussion. To make our healthcare system more efficient, we must reinvent how we think about time, our privacy sharing laws, and ways to make billing more flexible.
